CGBD Board of Directors

The Consultative Group on Biological Diversity is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization; its affairs are governed by a 9-person Board of Directors, the members of which are elected by the “designated representative” of each member foundation.  In turn, Directors must themselves be the designated representative of their member foundation.  They are elected for two-year terms, and may serve for three terms before standing down for at least one term.

The four officers of the Board (President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer) are elected by the Board, and serve as its executive committee.

The Board of Directors meets three times each year: at the members-only Annual Meeting in the summer, in the Fall to approve the succeeding year’s budget (and to review the work programs of each of CGBD’s operating Programs) and in the Spring.
